Arrival in Rwanda, March 2010
Nicole and I made it to Rwanda a day late, thanks to “technical difficulties” that grounded our plane in Brussels on Tuesday.
Luckily, if you’re going to be stranded (and comped hotel rooms and meals), Brussels isn’t a bad place to be.
Unfortunately, our delay pushed our training back from Wednesday to Friday. That meant that there would be four intensive days of business training for the Beacon Program women.
There are 20 Beacon Program women now – 10 from the Nyarugenge district of Kigali, and 10 from the Gasabo district of Kigali. All are set to attend Nicole’s training sessions.
For those of you who don’t know, Nicole Joyce is a business student at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is majoring in business management and interning this semester at the Foundation. She’s been fun to have around. Even when I made her sort through dozens of photos from years’ worth of solar installs. Thanks, Nicole!
More after some training.
