Have you heard about the international movement “Green Drinks”? If not, why don’t you check it out here?
I think it’s a great way to get people in the local community to talk about close-to-home and worldwide movements in everything “green.” For Koinonia, it’s a good fit because of our solar power programs. We think that clean, renewable energy is the way to go. Particularly in areas where electricity is so scarce.
So, a while back, I got Koinonia involved in Green Drinks Grand Rapids. I was lucky enough to meet Rachel Hood at the West Michigan Environmental Action Council (WMEAC), and she and Rob McCarty of The Image Shoppe welcomed me to participate.
If you’re looking for a new way to meet people (or even if you’re not) check out the new Green Drinks Grand Rapids website. On the third Thursday of every month between 5 and 7 p.m., you’ll usually find me wherever this website tells you that month’s Green Drinks is occurring. Stop in and meet some fun people from across the community. If you’re not in a green industry or don’t feel like a drink, you don’t need to let that stop you from joining in the networking fun. You might meet someone great!
