Every 20 seconds a child dies from a waterborne disease
Most of us only need to look as far as the tap for clean, drinkable water. But for most places like Rwanda, women and children can walk up to 4 miles on average to get dirty water from ponds, lakes, and swamps, risking their health by drinking it.
We take it for granted that clean water is going to come out of the faucet. If we don’t like the taste of tap water, we have filters, and bottled spring water is readily available on every corner.
We don’t have to worry about the quality of our water when serving it to our families.
1 in 6 people in the world lack safe drinking water, and will put their health at risk by drinking it, no matter the condition.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 1.4 million children die every year from diarrhea caused by unclean water and poor sanitation – 4,000 child deaths a day or one child every 20 seconds.
The Koinonia Foundation has partnered with Clean Water Environmental to research an alternative to the toxic chlorine tablets, costly filtering systems, and countless other remedies.
